In the month of May, the ministers of Abdulaziz overthrew him from the throne and Murad V became the Sultan, albeit only for three months. During his reign, two Grand Viziers of the Ottoman Empire arranged for the assassination of Abdulaziz which was portrayed as a suicide. In the same year, Murad V was deposed from the Ottoman throne and Abdul Hamid II became his successor and the last Ottoman sultan to have complete autocratic over the state.
