Major Fashion Brands in Turkey

Turkey is becoming a major player in the fashion world, and no matter which town or city you venture to, you will see a mixture of big named international brands, sitting alongside home-grown Turkish labels, small bazaars (markets), and carpet shops too! Shopping in Turkey is quite the experience, that’s for sure, and you can easily grab some great bargains during your visit, thanks to the very favourable Lira rate at the current time. You might even want to invest in an empty suitcase to bring back your purchases!

Without a doubt the best place for shopping in turkey is Istanbul, and Istiklal Street in Taksim is the biggest of the lot. Aside from this, you’ll find huge malls all over the city, and many of these have designer names from across the globe. It’s not just Istanbul however, as all the big towns and cities are geared up for shopping, as tourism booms and the country understands that men and women want to look fashionable and be bang on trend, to keep up with western styles.

The biggest global names you will easily see on high streets and shopping malls across Turkey include H&M, Zara, Mango and Topshop. Many big named online retailers also now ship to Turkey, including many Amazon sellers, Boohoo.com, Next, New Look, Asos, etc. This means that everyone can be super fashionable, although the customs cost can be quite hefty if you go over the approximately 30 Euros limit. That’s not a lot when you consider the price of clothes these days, so it’s not surprising that multiple parcels are often sent for!

Aside from these international names, you will see a plethora of home-grown shops too. LC Waikiki is the brand name you will see literally everywhere, no matter the size of the town. This is the regular high street stores which stocks male, female, and children’s clothing and accessories for reasonable prices, and nodding to the big styles across Europe and within the country. In addition, DeFacto is another budget clothing name you will see in most towns, and again, this is a store for everyone to kit themselves out in clothes without breaking the bank.

There are some slightly pricier names you will find, such as Jimmy Key, Mavi, Ipekyol, and Mudo. Mudo is an all rounder kind of store, selling homewares as well as clothes, and the prices can be a little costly, so perhaps save this one for splurges!

With more and more emphasis being put on Turkish style and fashion design, it looks like there will certainly be an abundance of new labels and stores cropping up over the coming few years. Whilst many also have an online presence, the bricks and mortar shopping experience is still very alive and well in Turkey, unlike in some other countries not too far away. Whether this will change or not depends on trends that continue onwards, but overall, shopping in Turkey, no matter where you go, is a very pleasant experience indeed, and you will be able to find many clothes by Turkish stores, for great prices.
